BERKS COUNTY, Pa. – A Pennsylvania State Police trooper accused of child abuse has been acquitted of all charges.

Young, who works in Berks County, was found not guilty in Schuylkill County court Friday. Those charges included aggravated assault, simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and reckless endangerment, among similar charges for the alleged abuse and endangerment of an infant and two other children.

Young, who was previously charged with intimidating a witness in the same child abuse investigation, was also found not guilty in that case.

According to investigators, the child was in Young’s care in September 2023 when the child was injured. The victim required medical intervention, hospital admission, and physical therapy. During the initial investigation, investigators said they revealed a pattern of alleged abuse by Young, both before and after the incident, to two other children, but a jury determined that Young was not guilty.
