On Friday, the Erie VA Medical Center celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month in its own unique way.
The center hosted several guest speakers to share personal stories about Hispanic heritage, honoring its rich history.
Those at the celebration enjoyed live music and presentations meant to honor the resilience and service of Hispanic veterans and the community as a whole.
“Such a rich culture, such rich traditions that we want to bring to the forefront. Also celebrating the stories, celebrating the stories of many who didn’t have that voice or didn’t have that confidence to come out and talk about their heritage or even talk about their struggles, and now they’re talking about their resilience and how they’ve overcome that,” said Ricardo Escajadillo, Whole Health Program coordinator.
Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15.
