YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A woman and three young children were seriously injured in a crash on I-83 in York County earlier this month.

Two of the kids, ages 2 and 4, were in car seats that were “used improperly,” according to Pennsylvania State Police. The other child, a 5-year-old, was reportedly in a safety belt that was also used improperly.

The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 6, state police said.

The driver, 26, is believed to have lost control of her SUV, striking the center median several times. Troopers said the vehicle had a “completely destroyed” front bumper, a missing front grill, a pushed-in hood and a cracked windshield after the crash.

The driver has been charged by state police, according to Saturday’s crash report, though the details of the charges are unclear at this time.
