First responders were called to Stranahan and Short streets in Homewood North around 3:50 p.m., according to Allegheny County 911.

A Pittsburgh Public Safety Department spokesperson says the man suffered significant injuries to his lower body. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The victim told police he was in the vehicle’s driver’s seat when an argument started.

He got out, and the woman in the passenger’s seat moved over. She allegedly drove into him before fleeing.

Channel 11 crews saw police officers searching around a Kia Sorento in the area. It was towed away shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Violent Crime and Mobile Crime units are now investigating.

The victim’s family told Channel 11’s Frederick Price that he’s about 36 years old. By Sunday evening, he’d gotten out of surgery and was expected to be OK.

Family members say the vehicle belonged to the woman, and the two share kids.

One relative relieved the trauma, describing how she didn’t hear the initial crash, but remembers when the victim began screaming for her help.
