Rain from the nor’easter that affected the Lehigh Valley over the weekend will end late Monday morning, ahead of an early October warmup.

Showers are expected to stop by 10 a.m., ending what was a wet few days in the region, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey. Just under half an inch of rain fell Saturday in the Lehigh Valley, and up to a quarter of an inch of rain was expected Sunday. Rainfall totals for Sunday were not immediately available Monday morning.

The next few days will be sunny and warm. Highs will be in the 70s and could reach the 80s Thursday to kick off the start of October, according to forecasters.

A cold front will move into the area Friday into Saturday and drop temperatures again, the weather service said.

“Preliminary guidance indicates that temperatures behind the front could be 5 to 10 degrees colder than normal,” meteorologists wrote Monday in their daily forecast discussion.
