PHILADELPHIA, Pa – The University of Pennsylvania’s head heavyweight rowing coach, Al Monte, has announced his program’s fall schedule for the 2026-27 season.

” I’m excited about this group and the opportunity we have in front of us this fall,” said Monte. “Our focus is on developing speed and efficiency and getting better each time we have an opportunity to race. Georgetown, the Head of the Charles and the Head of the Schuylkill will all give us valuable measuring sticks along the way. We always want to put our best effort forward on any given day, but we also want to see meaningful progress from one race to the next. Our goal is to keep building throughout the fall and put together our best team performance at the Princeton Chase to close out the season.”

The 2026 fall season will begin with two regattas hosted here on the Schuylkill, a scrimmage against Georgetown, and Head of the Schuylkill. Then, they’ll travel up to Boston for the renowned Head of the Charles and finish out in New Jersey for the Princeton Chase.
