READING, Pa. – The NAACP Veterans of Reading hosted it’s 4th annual dinner to recognize and provide resources to local veterans.

Officials say they want to continue providing information on what benefits are available for veterans such as mental and finical assistance.

The president of the division tells us sometimes it’s difficult to do so.

“Unfortunately, a lot of veterans either because of their modesty don’t want to go out and get the benefits or sometimes not being in the right place to get access we have to provide that open door for them,” said Wynton Butler, President of the NAACP Berks Chapter.

Visitors explored church memorabilia and enjoyed light refreshments following the service.
