A Union City mother and father said they loved their two young daughters even as their neglect left the children severely malnourished, a crime that has sent both parents to prison.
The condition of the girls, then 5 and 4, became so dire that they did not know how to eat solid food and needed surgically implanted feeding tubes to survive.
