A potential threat posted online toward Liberty High School was not credible, according to authorities.
Bethlehem Area School District said high school administration learned Tuesday morning about an anonymous Instagram post that suggested a possible threat. The school was placed on lock-in while administrators and police investigated.
Eventually it was transitioned to a lock-outĀ for the rest of the day while police investigated the source and circumstances around the post, according to a district news release. Normal school activities continued, and students will be dismissed at their normal time.
There will be an increased police and administrative presence at dismissal, the district said.
City police said there is no known or active threats to students or staff at the school.
