CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Cambria County say a Carrolltown man is behind bars, weeks after he reportedly dropped an infant girl on her head, causing severe trauma and a broken collarbone.
Investigators say 44-year-old Jamar Bagley allegedly admitted to harming the 8-week-old child and refusing to seek medical care.
According to police, the infant’s injuries were discovered after the baby’s mother was reportedly feeding her and noticed that she was “acting abnormally.”
Authorities say an initial medical exam at Conemaugh Miners Hospital determined that the infant had suffered an injury to her clavicle area, as well as “abnormalities” to her head.
Police say the baby was then transferred to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for further treatment.
Investigators say Bagley refused to speak with hospital staff and allegedly try to leave while the baby was being cared for.
According to online court records, Bagley is now jailed on charges of felony aggravated assault and child endangerment.
He is being held at the Cambria County Prison with bail set at $200,000.
