SINKING SPRING, Pa. – Tuesday night, skill-game machines were still running at Liberty Fire Co. #1 in Sinking Spring. For the club, they bring in important money.

“Yeah, it’s money, and honestly, you know, with a place that specializes in customer service as well as small games of chance, this is a huge take for our club in general,” said Justin Mancias of Liberty Fire Co. #1 Social Quarters.

Attorney General Dave Sunday issued a statewide warning Tuesday: Remove the machines by Oct. 14, or risk having them and the money inside seized.

In Berks County, District Attorney John Adams is sending the same message directly to businesses.

“You must remove the games, the skill machines, from your premises effective October 14th, 2026,” Adams said.

The district attorney sent a letter to every police chief in the county. He says local and state police will enforce the deadline.

“We don’t want to arrest the owners of businesses that have these machines, but we will if they don’t voluntarily relinquish the machines and remove them from their premises,” Adams said.

At Liberty, Mancias says the club will follow the law, even as he hopes lawmakers find another solution.

“If they need to be out of here by October 14th, they’re going to be out of here,” he said.
