Pennsylvania health officials report today on the fifth measles related death this year. This latest fatality was reported in an unvaccinated resident of Lancaster County.
The five deaths this year have been reported in Lancaster County (3), Mifflin and Jefferson counties.
The total confirmed cases increased by 40 cases since Monday, bringing the total to 943 in 39 counties. Lancaster County (381) and Mifflin County (116) report the most cases.
Of the 943 cases, 176 required hospitalization for their illness.
