PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania sprint football team will look to add to its win tally on Friday night in a matchup with Army at home inside Franklin Field.

The game is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

The Penn vs. Army Series

*Army leads the all-time series 63-7. Army has won eight straight in the series.

*Penn’s last win was a 14-9 victory in 2016 at Franklin Field.

*Last year, Army won 38-0 in West Point.

Quaker Notemeal

*First-year head coach Jon Dupont earned his first victory as head coach Friday night.

*Penn took home its first win of the season last Friday against St. Thomas Aquinas, 34-26. Freshman running back Dante Coury paced the offense with a career-high 182 yards on 29 carries, scoring four touchdowns.

*For his efforts, he was named CSFL Player and Rookie of the Week.

*Rookie quarterback John Franchini tossed a touchdown and 99 yards through the air while the ground game set the tone with 300 yards rushing.

*It was the first time since 2021 that Penn rushed for 300+ yards.

*The Quakers fell in week one at Navy, 27-6. Franchini connected with Andy Falletta for an eight-yard touchdown score for their only points of the game.

*Colin Cross paces the defense with eight tackles while Hugh Maley and Josh Johnson have an interception each.

SCOUTING THE BLACK KNIGHTS

*Army is led by 17th-year head coach Mark West. Last year, he led the Black Knights to a CSFL Championship game runner-up finish.

*The Black Knights are 2-0 on the season after posting 41-10 wins over Caldwell and 21-12 over Navy.

*This week, players Otto Leone and Kyle West were named the Collegiate Sprint Football League’s Special Teams and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. 

*West was 21-25 passing for 182 yards and a score, adding a rushing score as well. Leone recorded two tackles and had two blocked kicks.

*After week one, defensive back Caleb McGarity was named CSFL Defensive Player of the Week after pacing Army with six tackles and five pass breakups.
