Confluence Theater of Pittsburgh is going full steam ahead after forming from the merger of the Pittsburgh CLO and Pittsburgh Public Theater at the end of July.

On Wednesday, the new company announced its first full season, which will run throughout 2027. The season includes seven productions — one of which will be announced in the future — along with a “spirited holiday celebration,” education programs and more.

“This season is our first opportunity to show Pittsburgh what a unified company can do,” Brett Ashley Crawford, interim executive producer, said in a news release. “Season one keeps our stages active throughout the year, and we built our season tickets and pricing so that more people can be part of it. This is just the beginning.”

The slate includes a mix of well-known musicals and contemporary plays that will be staged at Downtown venues, including the Byham Theater, the O’Reilly Theater and the Greer Cabaret Theater.

The season will kick off with the musical “She Loves Me” from Feb. 2 to 28 at the O’Reilly Theater. The musical — which is based on the same story as the romantic comedy “You’ve Got Mail” — is a witty love story that was last revived on Broadway in 2016.

Next up is the Pittsburgh premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning “Purpose.” This family drama also won best play at the 2025 Tony Awards and is now heading to the stage at the O’Reilly Theater from March 30 to April 18.

Two huge names will follow over the summer, starting with “Les Miserables” June 15-27 at the Byham Theater and followed by “Cabaret” at the O’Reilly Theater from July 20 to Aug. 15. Both are historical drama musicals, but with very different contexts; “Les Mis” tells the epic tale of a cast of characters fighting for revolution in France, while “Cabaret” follows the rise of Nazism in the late 1920s and early 1930s in Germany.

“Matt and Ben” is a comedic play written by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers about the friendship between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck before they were lauded screenwriters and mega-stars of the screen. This intimate and hilarious production will take place at the Greer Cabaret Theater from Aug. 4 to 29.

Lastly, some Shakespeare. “The Comedy of Errors” will take over the O’Reilly Theater from Sept. 14 to Oct. 10. This classic farce has two sets of identical twins, separated in infancy, set loose in the same city at the same time without knowing. This leads to plenty of confusion, mistaken identity and slapstick fun.

The company’s 2027 season will also include the Shakespeare Monologue and Scene Contest and the Gene Kelly Awards.

Subscriptions are offered in four options. One will be for all seven productions; one for the Pittsburgh CLO Series, which will include the musicals; one for the Pittsburgh Public Theater Series, which includes “She Loves Me,” “Purpose,” “Matt and Ben” and “The Comedy of Errors”; and lastly, a flex plan that allows the subscriber to choose any four or more of the productions.
