MUHLENBERG TWP., Pa. — Authorities say the incident started around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday with a report of a stabbing in a Walmart parking lot.

“Officers responded, found the one stabbing victim. EMS also responded. They gave him first aid and transported him to Reading Hospital,” said Detective Sgt. Ramon Caraballo of the Muhlenberg Township Police Department.

Police say two men had argued over driving in the parking lot. One assaulted the other. During the fight, police say the man who was assaulted used a knife.

“One subject assaulted the other. A scuffle ensued, and that subject wound up with a stabbing wound that was determined to be non-life-threatening,” Caraballo said.

Investigators are now waiting for surveillance video.

“We have to really look at the video and review it to see if it matches statements provided by witnesses and persons involved,” Caraballo said.

Police say the men were strangers, and there is no threat to the public. Caraballo says fights like this rarely happen there. His advice is simple.

“Just walk away. It’s as simple as that,” Carabello said. “Just walk away. Let it go.”
