READING, Pa. – Crews are demolishing a former chemical plant in Reading that was damaged by two arson fires three years ago.
Lincoln Chemical Company is being torn down as part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s effort to get rid of hazardous waste from the site.
The building, at South 9th and Laurel Streets, first caught fire on Halloween day in 2023. The second fire broke out two days later.
Investigators later determined both were arson. There have still been no arrests.
