Pittsburgh: Seasonal weekend with a chill next week

Highs will be near 70 this weekend with cooler temperatures to start next week.

Brian Hutton Jr.PITTSBURGH —

A cold front dropping through Western Pennsylvania will allow for a seasonal weekend. A dry cold front Monday brings in even cooler air for the start of the week.

Feeling like October

After morning fog on Saturday, ample sunshine will warm us into the upper 60s, which is where we should be this time of year. The cold front that passed on Friday will shift east on Sunday and send clouds back to our area in the morning. A sprinkle may be squeezed out in the Laurel Highlands in the morning before sunshine returns through the day.

Clouds return Sunday morning with a shower possible in the Laurel Highlands.

Cool Temperatures Next Week

After rain clears Sunday, temperatures will bottom out as we head into the first full week of October. Highs on Tuesday may not get out of the 50s for most of us with low temperatures in the 30s. We could see frost and freeze concerns for the middle of next week.

A chilly day on Tuesday as we stay in the 50s for most of the day and morning frost is possible.

We return to more seasonal temperatures by late week. Highs will be near 70 through the weekend, with perhaps another chance at making a run toward 80 by Sunday. It looks to be at least the start of a great weekend for football in Western PA!
