Undersheriff Jim Rensel tells 2 On Your Side, officers initiated a “slow speed pursuit” Friday morning after a car that was sitting in the middle of the road took off, without deputies making contact with the driver.
The chase ended when the truck allegedly drove through a barrier at Barcelona Harbor before landing in Lake Erie.
Undersheriff Rensel says a town excavator pulled the truck out of the water after several hours, and the woman driving the truck was brought to the hospital for evaluation.
