Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Cape May, N.J., was the setting Nov. 9, 2024, for the wedding of Emma Hayley Henzes, Clarks Green, and Max Joseph Kranick, Jessup.

The bride is the daughter of Jack and Denise Henzes, Clarks Green. The bridegroom is the son of John and Tracey Kranick, Jessup.

The Rev. John Lapera officiated at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony.

Sadie Henzes, sister of the bride, and Maria Wolfel, cousin of the bride, were co-maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Ally Christman, Camryn Ogle, Julia Sebastian, Kasie Harris, Kate Cherundolo Kranick, Katie Hoffman, Lindsay Henzes Judge, Lydia Zwanch, Nadia Zwanch, Paris Acquaro, Quinn Hemphill MacDonald, Sadie Pensack and Sara Hoffman.

Amelia May and Guinevere Robinson were flower girls.

John Kranick and Connor Kranick, brothers of the bridegroom, were best men. Ushers were Braeden Ogle, Breck Zwanch, Christian Henzes, Colby Bailleau, Jake Henzes, Jamie Henzes, Kyle Cwalinski, Kyle Kelly, Liam Zwanch, Nolan Jones and Shea Gibbons.

Cole Pensack, Connor Pensack, Cooper Pensack, Gavin Eisele, Spencer May and Trevor Eisele were ring bearers.

A reception was held at Cape May Beachfront Ballroom.

Emma is a 2016 graduate of Abington Heights High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast and digital journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. She is a product marketing manager at Teamworks, a global sports tech company.

Max is a 2016 graduate of Valley View High School. He was drafted out of high school into the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He is currently a pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

The couple met in high school at the John F. Henzes Memorial Stadium through mutual friends and have dated since they were 16 years old. Max proposed to Emma on the beach of Anna Maria Island in Florida, a special location to the couple. Even more significant was the wedding location of Cape May, which has been a vacation destination for Emma and Max’s families since the 1960s. After nearly 12 years of love and devotion, they are approaching their one year wedding anniversary Nov. 9, 2025, with a celebration in Cape May with family and their new puppy, Kiki.

The couple took a wedding trip to Sugar Beach, St. Lucia.
