READING, Pa. – Police continue to investigate the discovery of remains found at a property in Reading, which the Berks County Deputy Coroner has now confirmed are human remains.
On Friday at approximately 4:46 p.m., Reading police were sent to a building in the 500 block of South 6th Street for a security check. The owner of the recently purchased property was on scene and discovered what appeared to be human remains.
Members of the Reading Police Department’s Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division responded and requested assistance from the Berks County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, the incident appears to be isolated and there is no active threat to the public.
