Halloween is right around the corner, and a new escape room is giving participants a chance to “save” Lake Erie while supporting a good cause.

“The Lake Erie Lab” challenges players to stop a mad scientist known as Professor Poisonwell, who is plotting to poison Lake Erie and wipe out every fish in the lake.

Teams have 60 minutes to search through the lab, solve puzzles, and uncover the antidote before time runs out.

All funds raised from the escape room will benefit the Center for Lake Erie Education and Research and Gannon University’s Project NePTWNE.

“We have a very good environment for friends and young adults as well. It’ll be a very good environment to unwind but also keep your brain engaged. It’s very good for high school and college students or families that are trying to find something fun to do over the weekend,” said Azlynn Jones, a CLEER Project member and escape room employee.

Organizers hope the experience provides a fun seasonal activity while also supporting programs focused on education and research connected to Lake Erie.
