The Eagles were already without DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and Lane Johnson on offense.
Add Saquon Barkley to the list.
The Eagles’ top running back got hurt on his second carry of Sunday’s game against the Rams. Barkley has now been ruled out after initically being called questionable to return with a hamstring injury.
Barkley pulled up lame after a 6-yard run and eventually limped off the field to the blue medical tent on the sideline. Barkley later left the tent and walked inside.
Without Barkley, the Eagles have Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley as their running backs in this game. A couple weeks ago when Barkley got hurt on his first carry in Tennessee; Bigsby and Shipley split reps after that.
In this game, Bigsby was on the field first after the Barkley injury and was able to pick up a first down on a seven-yard run but the Eagles’ drive stalled on a 3rd-and-1 loss from Bigsby. They settled for a field goal.
Barkley was the Eagles’ leading rusher entering this game with 174 yards in three games. Jalen Hurts was second with 87, while Bigsby had 36 and Will Shipley had 28.
