A woman in her 50s has been hospitalized, officials said, after she was shot in the chest during a domestic incident that happened in the Oxford Circle section of Northeast Philadelphia late Sunday.

According to police, a woman in her 50s was taken to a nearby hospital after she was shot in the chest and grazed in the back in, what officials called, a domestic incident that happened at a home along the 1300 block of Hale Street in Northeast Philly’s Oxford Circle section at about 11 p.m. on Sunday night.

Officials said the woman was placed in stable condition at a nearby hospital following the shooting.

However, police were not able to initially provide information on what led to this incident nor did they say if anyone was arrested in this incident.

But, police said an investigation is underway.
