A Palestinian-cuisine restaurant chain, recognized by The New York Times as one of New York’s top 100 restaurants, has permanently closed its Allentown location.
Signage on the restaurant Ayat’s entrance on Monday announced the closure at 1243 W. Tilghman St., just over two years after it originally opened.
The chain didn’t respond to requests for comment.
It primarily operates in New York but also intends to open locations in Philadelphia, Texas and Washington, D.C., according to the restaurant website.
The closest Ayat restaurant from the Lehigh Valley is now in New Jersey.
