The remnants of Tropical Storm Isaias could bring some rainfall to the Lehigh Valley after several days of sunshine.

High temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s with sunshine through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey.

That looks to end Sunday, when the remnants of Tropical Storm Isaias could affect the area, forecasters said Wednesday. Meteorologists are monitoring it, and as of Wednesday it still remained unclear when it could impact the region.

“In any event, the system should be fairly progressive but will likely have significant moisture with it,” meteorologists wrote in their daily forecast discussion. “So the rain could be heavy at times with the potential for some areas to see 1-2 inches.”

Rain could continue into Monday as well.

Isaias is expected to strengthen into a hurricane and hit the northern Gulf Coast by Friday, according to the weather service. Hurricane force-winds are possible over portions of the Florida panhandle, southern Alabama and Mississippi. Isaias will bring heavy rain to the central U.S. Gulf Coast and the southeast during the weekend, forecasters said.

Rainfall predictions for the Lehigh Valley are between 1 and 2 inches by Monday morning, with higher totals to the south, according to the weather service.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 71. Light west wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: A chance of showers after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 71. Chance of precipitation is 50%

Monday: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 70.
