A Northampton County man will spend up to three decades in prison for a shooting that killed a man four years ago in Allentown.

Frederick Antwan Marks Jr., 26, of Bath, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, conspiracy to commit third-degree murder and aggravated assault in the fatal Aug. 31, 2022, shooting of Najeer Lane, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan said in a news release. Marks was sentenced to 15-30 years in prison.

Marks was in a vehicle with multiple co-defendants who agreed to meet Bless Jones at Trout Creek Park. While driving there, Jones was ambushed by Marks and the others, according to the DA. Thirteen rounds were fired at the car from a modified handgun, and Lane, 22, of Allentown, who was in the car with Jones, was killed at the scene, the release states.

Jones escaped and went home. Marks and his co-defendants showed up at the home about an hour later and fired 12 more rounds at Jones and another person, the DA said. Neither were injured.

Marks was one of three charged in the incident. Xavier Grenon, 27, of Allentown, was sentenced in April to 18 years and 9 months to 40 years in prison, and Legious Minder Jr., 24, of Bethlehem, was sentenced to 40-80 years in prison for the shooting and other incidents.

Lane was killed five years after his brother, Parris Lane, was also killed in a shooting in a Center City parking lot.
