LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Halloween is a few short weeks away which means spooky season is in full swing.
Evil on Erie is celebrating with one final season. This year, Evil on Erie presents “The Final Fright.”
Friday and Saturday evenings this month, you’re invited out for a good scare.
The annual award-winning, volunteer-powered haunt has become a Halloween staple in Greater Lafayette.
The haunt gives back to the community through Homestead Resources, a local organization which addresses housing needs in the community.
Owner Jim Slaven has been running Evil on Erie for over 18 years. He says this year is special.
“We have all our old actors that are calling wanting to come back,” Slaven tells News 18. “They don’t want to miss out on the memories that they had. They want to help scare one more time.”
Jason Smith is one of the many scare actors who comes back year after year. He tells News 18 it’s more than just scaring guests.
“It’s a good way for me to give back to my community, and I get to have fun scaring the heck out of people.”
Gracie Gosnell-Slaven has worn many hats during her time with Evil on Erie. She’s also the daughter of Jim Slaven, the owner of Evil on Erie. She gives the credit to him.
“Jim Slaven is awesome,” she tells News 18. “He is the best. He does wonderful things for the community. I am so proud of him. Proud to be his daughter. Proud to be a part of his family. He’s the best.”
Evil on Erie runs each Friday and Saturday during October.
