LONDON (WPVI) — The Eagles’ trip to London means big business for travel companies, pubs and local businesses welcoming thousands of fans from the Philadelphia region.
Supporters making the journey across the Atlantic are expected to spend thousands of dollars on what many describe as the trip of a lifetime.
Eagles fans have been arriving in waves, creating a sea of green from Philadelphia International Airport to London’s Heathrow Airport as anticipation builds for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
For some, that level of fandom has become a business.
Vince Risotto from True Fan Travel makes it his mission to see that sports trips go smoothly from tailgates to lavish boat parties to excursions.
“People can go to London on their own. The reason people come with us is the community. We take care of all the logistics,” Risotto said.
What began with organized trips to Philadelphia Eagles road games has grown into a larger business serving fans of multiple teams and sports.

Travel organizers say one of the most enjoyable aspects of the London experience is watching American football fans interact with local supporters.
“There’s a lot of local UK fans that will be there to support, so they sort of bring a little bit of the soccer traditions and the singing and things like that,” said travel organizer Mike Mizuno.
Demand for Eagles travel packages has been especially strong, particularly when international destinations are involved.
“It’s a really fun process to start,” Mizuno said. “We’re tracking the games before the schedule even comes out. There were rumors the Eagles were going to be playing overseas. There was a rumor they were going to play in London. The second the announcement came, that’s when we started booking things.”
