BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A new welcoming spot for cortados, cappuccinos, croissants and conversation is brewing in Northampton County.
Bethlehem Coffee Company, offering a wide array of classic and signature coffee drinks along with tea, baked goods, sandwiches and more, is coming soon to 9 W. Fourth St. in south Bethlehem.
An opening date has not yet been finalized, but the team is aiming to open the new coffee shop within the next few weeks, manager Eric Clouse told 69 News.

“We’re tentatively shooting for an Oct. 17 opening, but we still have a few last-minute tasks to complete before we know for sure,” Clouse said.
Bethlehem Coffee Company will occupy an updated space that previously housed a jewelry store.
Seating for around 24 guests will be available at tables and newly constructed counters made from reclaimed wood.
The space will feature a vintage atmosphere with antique light fixtures, a repurposed mirror and other décor, Clouse said.
“We’re super excited to finally open our doors and have people enjoy what we’ve been working on,” Clouse said.
“We want this to be a welcoming spot for the community, where people can come in, get a great cup of coffee and just have a great time while hanging out with us.”
Bethlehem Coffee Company will offer drip coffee along with specialty coffee drinks such as Americano, flat white and various lattes.

Drinks could be customized with cold foam and flavored syrups, and other beverages such as lemonade, hot and iced teas and seasonal specials also will be available.
“One of our features that we’re opening with is a strawberry matcha lemonade,” Clouse said.
“We also plan to have a kegerator to do cold brew on tap. We might do one specialty latte on tap as well.”
Bethlehem Coffee Company will source premium coffee from Lancaster County-based Necessary Coffee Roasters.
“Necessary Coffee is absolutely fantastic,” Clouse said. “They do a lot of medium to dark roasts, while their sister brand, Passenger Coffee, does medium to light roasts.”
In addition to serving up hand-crafted drinks, Bethlehem Coffee Company will feature a food menu with build-your-own breakfast sandwiches (egg and choice of cheese, meat and bread) and other handhelds such as a ham and Swiss baguette and turkey, cheddar and bacon baguette.
There also will be fresh croissants, pastries and other baked goods.
“We’re going to be partnering with a local bakery,” Clouse said.
Renovations took place over the past few months, and the updated property also will feature a separate room at the rear of the space for individuals or groups looking for a more secluded area to read, study or just relax, Clouse said.
The goal is for the area to feel like a “cozy lounge,” Clouse added.

“We started Bethlehem Coffee Company because good coffee gives people a reason to sit down together,” reads a message on the business’ website.
“We didn’t want another place to grab a cup and leave — we wanted the kind of room where neighbours end up friends, where students find their corner, and where a conversation starts because you happened to be standing next to someone. That idea shaped everything. The espresso we pull, the food we serve, the chairs we chose, and the space between the tables. All of it was chosen to make Bethlehem Coffee Company feel comfortable, welcoming, and like a place you can stay awhile.”
Bethlehem Coffee Company is tentatively set to operate 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Clouse said.
“We want to be that fun coffee shop where people can hang out anytime of the day, even at night,” Clouse added.
“I drink a lot of coffee, and I’ve noticed that once 3 p.m. hits, it’s kind of hard to find a good cup of coffee as most cafes in the area seem to close around that time.”
Bethlehem Coffee Co. also is serving customers in a mobile format via a coffee trailer, which can be booked for private events, pop-ups and group gatherings.
Inquiries can be made on the business’ website.
Clouse encourages the community to stay updated on Bethlehem Coffee Company’s latest happenings, including an official opening announcement for the coffee shop, on the business’ Instagram page.
