LONDON (WPVI) — Inside Cafe Diana, a famous watering hole in the shadow of London’s Kensington Palace, you’ll find photos of the people’s Princess plastering the walls.
In one photo, Lady Di is representing the City of Brotherly Love, sporting a Kelly green Eagles jacket in the early ’90s.
She also wore the look on the cover of People magazine.
Stephen Liddell is the owner of Ye Olde England Tours in London. He says Diana wasn’t much of a football fan.
“Princess Diana wasn’t exactly a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles or the NFL. Not many people were into the NFL at the time, but she really loved the colors of the kit,” he said.
It was actually a chance meeting with a member of the Eagles organization at Princess Grace of Monaco’s funeral that led to the creation of the custom coat.
The style has always remained popular, with Mitchell and Ness recreating the iconic look in 2023.
Today, the replica jacket will run you $400.
It’s believed Princess Diana’s original coat remains in her private collection.
