And UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care will open a new medical facility along Wegmans’ outer drive near the Chipotle Mexican Grill that opened earlier this year.
Aldi Millcreek Town Center
Aldi’s new store on West Ridge Road is on schedule to open sometime in November, said Kevin Erly, regional vice president for the discount grocery chain.
The company is accepting applications for jobs at the 5224 West Ridge Road store and is looking specifically for a full-time assistant manager.
Aldi announced early this year that it planned to open 180 new stores in 31 states during its U.S. 50th anniversary year in 2026.
Located along Walmart’s eastern entrance drive, the almost 22,000-square-foot building will have 87 parking spaces, according to development plans approved by Millcreek Township.
The new Millcreek store will be Aldi’s fourth in Erie County. Other stores are at 2647 W. 12th St., Millcreek, 2222 Downs Drive in Summit Township and 4728 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek.
UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care
The new West Ridge Road medical care facility is expected to open in late October, according to a UPMC spokesperson.
The 2,500-square-foot building was constructed at 5008 W. Ridge Road this year.
It will be the third UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care location in Erie County. The partnership between Pittsburgh-based UPMC and Chicago-based GoHealth also operates facilities at 5039 Peach St. in Millcreek and 7200 Peach St. in Summit Township.
There currently are 81 UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care facilities in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The facilities offer treatment for acute but not life-threatening injuries and illnesses. Many UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care locations additionally offer women’s health, radiology and orthopedic services.
Chipotle Mexican Grill
The new Chipotle Mexican Grill blazed the trail for this year’s commercial development along West Ridge Road.
The restaurant opened in February at 5000 West Ridge Road, off the Wegmans entrance drive.
The West Ridge Road location is the chain’s fourth in the Erie region. Other Erie area restaurants are at 2204 W. 12th St. in Millcreek, 6611 Peach St. in Summit Township and 4165 Buffalo Road in Harborcreek.
