For the first time this season, the No. 3 Hurricanes will kick off in the afternoon.

Miami’s home game against Pittsburgh on Oct. 24 is set for a noon kickoff time, the ACC announced on Monday. The game will be broadcast on ABC or ESPN (the broadcast network will be determined after this week’s games).

The Hurricanes, who face rival Florida State on Saturday, are 5-0 and coming off a bye week. Pitt, which was ranked 25th in last week’s AP Top 25, is coming off a 21-17 loss to North Carolina (which is the team UM will play after playing the Panthers).

Pittsburgh’s loss to UNC was its first loss of the season. It came after the Panthers won a close game over Virginia Tech. In that victory over the Hokies, Pitt’s starting quarterback Mason Heintschel suffered a season-ending ACL injury. In his first game as the Panthers’ starter, quarterback Holden Geriner completed about 61 percent of his passes for 219 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

Miami won the last matchup between these two teams, beating the Panthers in Pittsburgh to end the 2025 regular season. Pitt won the last game at Hard Rock Stadium, rolling over a struggling UM squad in 2022. The Hurricanes have won five of the last six meetings between the two teams.
