The food hall opened up in 2024 after years of development
PITTSBURGH —
A popular Pittsburgh food destination is shutting its doors.
Lawrence Hall, an old warehouse turned food hall, announced it would be closing at the end of this year in a statement posted to their social media accounts.

The restaurant cited “rising costs and a difficult economic backdrop,” among other challenges, as a reason for closing.
“We poured everything we had into making this space something special in Lawrenceville, and we remain deeply proud of what it became. Our sincere hope is that the spirit of this place continues on in whatever comes next,” the food hall said.

The restaurant, located along Butler Street at 46th Street, opened in April 2024. The concept was first pitched six years ago by owner Brent Minarik. The building was originally built in the 1890s and once hosted a movie theater.
The food hall contains four different vendors serving a variety of food.
The restaurant will remain open through the holidays, in order to support staff and honor a New Year’s Eve wedding celebration, according to the statement.
“Thank you to our vendors, partners and every guest who came through our doors,” the food hall finished off their post, saying. “You gave this space life.”
