A pair of construction projects on major Pittsburgh roads will prompt traffic changes on Thursday.

PennDOT will install signs on the Parkway East in two locations between 2 and 10 a.m.: eastbound between the on-ramp from Bates Street and the Plum exit (84B) and westbound between the Penn Hills and the north Route 885/Oakland (Exit 73A) interchanges.

Drivers can expect mobile lane restrictions and short-term shoulder restrictions.

Lane restrictions will take place on Penn Avenue between North Braddock Avenue and North Lexington Street in Point Breeze between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Thursday and through late December.

Crews from Wilson Excavating are repairing a gas line for Peoples Natural Gas. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic.
