NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. – A Northampton County man who was found in possession of more than 100 photos and videos of child pornography will spend years behind bars.

Matthew John Kocher, 32, previously pleaded guilty to several felony counts of sexual abuse of children and was sentenced this week to serve 12 to 24 years in prison, according to a news release from Attorney General Dave Sunday’s office.

Following his release, Kocher will serve three years of probation and be under sex offender supervision conditions, the news release says.

Sunday’s office received a cyber tip, and agents traced file-sharing to Kocher. Last year, the agents seized devices from Kocher’s Nazareth home and his workplace in Bethlehem, Sunday’s office said.

“Our Child Predator Section continues to rid communities of offenders who abuse and exploit children,” Sunday said.

“We hope a sentence of years and years behind bars serves as a deterrent to anyone who thinks viewing these kinds of photographs and videos is a minor crime,” he added.
