A Delaware County woman has been arrested and charged with forging and cashing a $7,000 check at a Caernarvon Township bank in 2025.
Jill Gorman, 52, of Upper Darby was arraigned Tuesday in front of District Judge F. Richard Drumheller on 22 felony counts, including theft, receiving stolen property, forgery and conspiracy, as well as eight misdemeanor counts.
She has been placed in Berks County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
According to Caernarvon Township police:
Gorman went to the Truist Financial branch in the 700 block of Crossings Boulevard on the afternoon of Sept. 3, 2025 and, cashed a $7,000 check.
She provided identification showing she was the person to whom the check was written.
The check was later found to have been drawn on insufficient funds.
A police investigation determined Gorman had used a forged identification card and a forged check appearing to be from a California couple.
Further investigation found that Gorman had also cashed a forged check earlier in the day at a bank in Upper Providence Township in Delaware County.
Police were able to use cellphone records and video surveillance to place Gorman at both banks. A search of cellphone data turned up photos of fake ID cards, blank checks and sensitive banking information.
Also charged in the crime is Kervens Isac of Huntingdon Valley, Montgomery County. He rented a vehicle that was used in both crimes, investigators said.
He is charged with 15 counts of conspiracy and remains free pending further court action.
