SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Johnson College held its fall career fair Wednesday at its Scranton campus. The event connected students and alumni with more than 80 regional employers offering opportunities across a wide range of industries.

Inside the Moffat Student Center Gym, the fair featured employers representing fields such as construction, manufacturing, automotive technology, health care and cybersecurity. Students and alumni could explore opportunities ranging from internships and apprenticeships to full-time employment.

Dana Healey, director of career services at Johnson College, said the fairs have become an important way for the college to maintain relationships with regional employers, many of whom regularly express interest in participating.

“We want to make sure the students are thinking about the end at the beginning. So, day one, we want to talk about internships. We want to talk about job placement. We don’t want anyone leaving here without opportunity. If they want a job, they’re welcome to come and try to find a job or an internship. It’s very important to the college as a whole that students leave here with a sense of self and a place to go,” said Healey.

Johnson College will hold its next career fair in the spring, continuing its twice-yearly commitment to helping students prepare for life after graduation.
