HANOVER TWP., Pa. – Millions around the country are coming together Tuesday to honor our veterans. In Northampton County, a special Veterans Day ceremony was held at Hanover Elementary School.
There are dozens of American flags in front of the school and there were many decorations inside the ceremony.
Red, white, and blue cover the walls of the school this Veterans Day as the community comes together. Navy Veteran Michael Carter was at the ceremony.
“It means everything to see our children celebrate us and to, you know, give acknowledgement to all of the service we have provided. It feels great,” Carter said.

Beverly Josar’s husband is a Vietnam Veteran. He’s in Washington D.C. Tuesday.
“My grandson Jacob is in fifth grade, but I’ve enjoyed coming here every year. I come on behalf of my husband because he’s in Washington with his buddies,” Josar said.
It’s a ceremony 4th grade teacher Nikki Giannaras helps organize, to honor our nation’s veterans.
“This is a team effort. The whole school pitches in, the teachers, all the staff, and they do a great job,” Giannaras said.
