ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Three teens are facing charges after three bomb threats affected students at William Allen High School this week.
The district says students have lost a total of two and a half days of instruction due to the threats.
District superintendent Carol Birks says the students are frustrated and just want to learn.
69 News spoke with students and parents at tonight’s homecoming game in Allentown.
“I definitely think that it’s extremely scary, not only for the school and the students and the staff itself but just thinking about all those students outside of the building all at one time could be scary as well,” says Barbara Rodriguez, a William Allen High School parent.
At Friday night’s homecoming festivities, the William Allen High School community was celebrating while reflecting on a chaotic week.
Police say bomb threats came in Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each day, police and fire crews responded to the school, forcing students from the classroom.
Students 69 News spoke to say it’s been a stressful few days.
“It’s been, like, a little scary going around the school fearing walking in and walking out not knowing if you’re actually safe because of all of the threats that have been made,” said senior Christian Burgos.
“The fact it’s happening during my senior year, the most important year, it’s very disappointing,” said senior Jasmin Reyes.
Despite the disruptions, students say the district is still making sure kids are getting their studies in while keeping them safe.
“Even if a class is 20 minutes, they’re still making sure that we’re getting in class and we’re still getting the education that we still deserve,” said Burgos.
