LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Two Lancaster County spas were allegedly used for commercial sex operations over the course of several years, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office’s Human Trafficking Section.

According to investigators, the alleged operations took place at Calm Spa, in Manheim, and Cozy Spa, in Mount Joy since at least 2024.

Investigators said they interviewed 10 patrons who said they went to the spas and were offered sexual services. The patrons told investigators that they tipped the employees between $100-200 for performing these services, according to an affidavit.

The owner of the spas, Lijin Chen, was charged Thursday with corrupt organizations, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, promoting prostitution and related charges.

Online advertisements for the spas included phrases like “Clean & Discreet Happy ending” and “Amazing body and beautiful ladies who can fulfill all your dream,” according to the affidavit.

Patrons reportedly told investigators that some employees did not speak English and would use hand gestures or a translation app to offer sexual services.

Chen is believed to have transported employees between the two spa locations, the affidavit said.

“Our surveillance of these locations revealed that these purported spas were used for commercial sex dates, often arranged online,” Attorney General Dave Sunday said in a release. “With the filing of serious criminal charges, these businesses will no longer be scourges to the community.”

Chen is out on bail, according to her docket. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 29.
