Wedding planning can get expensive fast.

But a resale market in Erie today gave couples a chance to save some money while checking a few things off their wedding lists.

The Wedding Resale Market brought couples to the Ambassador Hotel and Conference Center this morning.

The market featured gently used and new wedding items being sold by local couples.

Shoppers could look through everything from wedding dresses and accessories to decorations, centerpieces and favors.

Local wedding vendors were also there, giving couples a chance to connect with businesses and professionals as they plan their big day.

“In the area on average, Erie brides are spending anywhere between $1,000-$3,000 on their wedding decor and different items. So when you’re coming here and you’re, you know, getting items at a discount, you should save $1,000 on your wedding budget or more. So it’s really just a great, it’s great all around for everybody, sellers, buyers, the community,” said Julie Bartoo, founder of Wedly Erie.

Bartoo says the event brought in 25 sellers and has attracted more than 200 attendees between the two markets held so far. After seeing a strong turnout at the first event in April, organizers decided to bring the event back and say it’s been a great resource for the community.
