Shoppers had the chance to get a jump start on their holiday shopping while supporting local artisans at the Erie Guild of Craftsmen Fall Craft Show. This year it was held at the Zem Zem Shrine Club.

For more than 50 years, vendors have gathered to showcase and sell their handmade products, offering shoppers a variety of unique gifts and items.

This year’s show featured everything from artwork and woodworking to home décor, jewelry, knitted and crocheted items, clothing, soaps, body scrubs and pottery.

Organizers say the event is a great way to connect local vendors with the community while giving shoppers the opportunity to find one-of-a-kind items.

“I think crafting is trending up,” said Craft Show Chair Robin Keller. “I think people want to do things with their hands. People like to come in and see the guy on the loom working that loom and creating something different. It’s something hands-on. You’re creating. It can be beautiful. It can be ugly. Somebody’s gonna love it.”

All funds raised through the event will go toward the Erie County Public Library’s Idea Lab.
