The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is inviting the public to help shape the future of some of Erie County’s most treasured outdoor destinations.

Public Input Sought on Presque Isle Master Plan Update.jpg

DCNR will hold a second public meeting on October 28, at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center as part of its effort to update the master plan for the Presque Isle State Park Complex. The plan covers Presque Isle State Park, the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, and Erie Bluffs State Park.

During the meeting, DCNR staff will provide an update on the planning process, including a review of existing conditions, public and stakeholder feedback gathered so far, key findings, planning priorities, and potential improvements under consideration for the updated master plan.

“The Presque Isle Complex is one of the most beautiful, unique places in our system, and we are excited to plan for its future,” said John Hallas, State Parks Director. “We thank those who have already submitted feedback on the Master Plan for the Presque Isle State Park Complex and welcome the public to attend the October 28 meeting to learn more about what’s in store for Pennsylvania’s only seashore.”

Officials say the master plan will serve as a roadmap for the next 25 years, guiding decisions on conservation, recreation, facility improvements, and visitor experiences throughout the park complex. The plan is designed to balance natural resource protection with public access and recreational opportunities while addressing future community needs.

DCNR uses master plans to evaluate current park facilities, identify long-term priorities, and develop recommendations that reflect both conservation goals and public input.

Residents interested in following the planning process or providing feedback can find updates, announcements, and opportunities for involvement through the Presque Isle State Park Complex master planning website.
