Officials say one tractor-trailer traveling east lost control, crossed into the westbound lanes and rolled over, causing another tractor-trailer to strike a vehicle. The tractor-trailer that crossed lanes was carrying a load of cranberry juice.

It’s not known at this time if anyone was seriously injured, but authorities say one person had to be freed from one of the tractor-trailers.

As of 9:43 p.m., the 511 Pennsylvania website indicated that I-78 westbound between Exit 67 (Route 412 – Hellertown/Bethlehem) and Exit 60B (Route 145 North – South Fourth Street) was closed.

Authorities say westbound traffic is at a standstill, and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible. Travel is also slow in the eastbound lanes of I-78.
