The cast of “The Pitt” is back in Pittsburgh filming season 3, offering fans a preview of their characters and upcoming storylines.
Noah Wyle, at a news conference on Monday with other members of the cast, said fans will meet a Dr. Robby never before seen.
“I think Robby’s making his ascension out of the proverbial pit. He’s gone on sabbatical and he’s come back to get the help that everybody’s told him that he should be getting. So I think you’re going to see a slightly more aspirational Robby than you’ve seen before,” Wyle said.
Other cast members shared updates on their characters as well.
Katherine LaNasa, who plays Nurse Dana, said, “Dana is having a hard time. She’s got a lot on her plate, and she’s in a bad mood about it, so we’ll see that Dana.”
Dr. Mel, played by Taylor Dearden, will apparently also be in a similarly down mood.
“Mel, post-deposition, is just kind of feeling down on herself all season, again a bad day. No one wants to see us have a great day,” Dearden said.
Dr. Langdon is apparently doing much better, with actor Patrick Ball saying, “Langdon’s doing great. Yeah, really, really good.”
Dr. Robby and Dr. Langdon will reunite in the emergency room in season 3 after being distant in season 2, according to the actors.
A scene will also feature a homeless camp set created under Pittsburgh’s 9th Street Bridge. According to Wyle, the set was designed to focus on something local and relatable, though specifics about the scene remain unclear.
The cast will return to California to film additional scenes on their set there. Season 3 of “The Pitt” is scheduled to air in January of next year.
