A big change in Class 4A and a couple of head-to-head showdowns between ranked teams led to some movement, but no eviction notices for those involved.

There are a couple of new faces in this, the penultimate weekly Trib HSSN state rankings of the 2026 regular season.

There was a shakeup in Class 4A following the losses of Shamokin and Carinal O’Hara. Those two dropped out and were replaced by undefeated Dallas from District 2 and once-beaten South Fayette from the WPIAL.

Shamokin wasn’t the only top-ranked team to drop from No. 1 as Class 3A Northwestern Lehigh fell to No. 4 after losing to Class 5A No. 4 Southern Lehigh in District 11.

General McLane in Class 4A and Mt. Carmel in 3A now join Central Catholic in 6A, Pine-Richland in 5A, Seton LaSalle in 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle Academy at No. 1 following Week 9.

The other big move came in Class 6A after then-No. 5 Bishop McDevitt rolled past No. 2 Harrisburg, shuffling the deck in the state’s highest classification.

Tough challenges lie ahead in Week 10 for several state ranked teams, including two more head-to-head contests.

In Class 6A, after falling from No. 2 to No. 5, Harrisburg must regroup as it visits the new No. 2 this week in State College.

In Class 2A, top-ranked Seton LaSalle battles No. 4 Bishop Canevin in a clash of undefeated District 7 teams.
