Next week’s election asks Erie voters to fill three seats on the Town Council — with one seat open in each voting district. Filings show over $20,000 in campaign spending across the seven candidates running for those seats.

Andrew Sawusch and Bob Braudes are running in District 1, where current Councilmember John Mortellaro’s term is expiring. Mortellaro is not running for another term despite being eligible.

Delaney Dreckman, Ben Hemphill and Dipak Basnet are running for the District 2 seat, where current Mayor Pro Tem Brandon Bell is term limited. Bell is set to take the mayoral seat after current Mayor Andrew Moore announced he will retire from the position next month.

Councilmember Brian O’Connor of District 3, with a term also expiring in January, is running to keep his seat against challenger Amy Becker.

The most recent deadline for candidates to file their campaign finances with the town clerk’s office was Oct. 19, covering a reporting period from Oct. 5 through Oct. 19.
