A man wearing a mask and gloves died after getting shot in the head inside a home where narcotics were also found.
Officers responded to 911 calls for gunshots heard at the 6100 block of Colgate Street in Philly’s Crescentville neighborhood at around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Officers checked the front and then went around to the back of the house, where they found a door open and saw a gun laying on a pool table along with a man laying on the ground.
SWAT and police drones swept the house before investigators went inside, where they found a man, who was identified as a John Doe is believed to be in his 20s, laying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head while wearing a mask and gloves, Small said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and no other persons were found in the home, but the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
Investigators believe the shooting was related to narcotics and drug paraphernalia found throughout the home, Small said.
No description of a suspect was available.
