A 14-year-old boy shot a 10-year-old girl Tuesday afternoon near Erie, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office said.
Just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2200 block of Weld County Road 10 near Erie, according to a social media post on X. The girl was taken to a hospital, and her condition is stable as of Wednesday morning, according to the post.
The boy and girl are related, the post says, but did not specify how.
The post did not say whether the boy was arrested.
Deputies are investigating the case, and more information is expected to be released as it becomes available, the post says.
