CUMRU TWP., Pa. – Cumru Elementary School in Berks County held its annual Veterans Day program this morning.
The special day brings the community together for an hour of patriotic songs and performances to celebrate local vets.
Organizers says the event also serves as a way to both educate students on the sacrifices veterans make and instill in them a deep respect for, and understanding of, military service.
Around 60 veterans attended today’s event in person, with 30 more joining in virtually.
